Party's Chief Whip Hitendra Nath Goswami today said the two MLAs - Ali Akbar Mian and Abdul Jabbar - remained "inexplicably absent" which resulted in the victory of two Congress nominees in the recent Rajya Sabha poll.

The party decided to suspend the duo and issue a show cause notice to them, he said.

"On receipt of their reply we will initiate necessary legal action including filing criminal case for allegedly being a party to the money power game played by the Congress", he said.

The AGP leader said his party will approach the Election Commission regarding the "blatant use of money power" by the ruling Congress to ensure victory of its candidates.

Meanwhile dissident AGP leader and former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta today denied he had any hand in the two MLAs being absent for polling in the RS poll.

Both the MLAs are considered to be close to Mahanta.
