Advani violated election code of conduct, says Patnaik
Congress alleged that Advani has violated election code of conduct as he had government vehicles in his 'Bharat Uday Yatra' convoy.
Congress today said Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani has violated election code of conduct as he had a long fleet of vehicles in his 'Bharat Uday Yatra' convoy while senior district officers including the superintendent of police accompanied him on way.
"During his three-day yatra in the state, Advani had promised the moon to the people which was also violation of the election code", veteran Congress leader and Orissa PCC President J B Patnaik told PTI.
Reacting to Advani's yatra, Patnaik said the SP and senior police officers accompanied him while he had a fleet of vehicles in his convoy.
When asked whether Congress would lodge complaint with the Election Commission, Patnaik replied, "We will approach the people".
PCC spokesman Arya Kumar Gyanendra said the state government had also erected barricades all along Advani's route from Nuapada to Puri in the name of security which involved substantial expenditure. +according to security manual, such barricades can be constructed only for the Prime Minister's security", he said.
