AIADMK insulted me, says Karthik
Actor Karthik, the Tamil Nadu unit president of All India Forward Bloc, said the ruling AIADMK "insulted" him.
Actor Karthik, the Tamil Nadu unit president of All India Forward Bloc, on Sunday said the ruling AIADMK had "insulted" him when he approached that party seeking an alliance for the assembly polls.
"I don't bother about the insult heaped on me. I am angry, because the AIFB founded by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar has been insulted and humiliated," he told reporters in Chennai.
Asserting that he and his party's candidates were facing "threats" and "pressure" from various quarters, he said the policemen of the CB-CID wing were visiting him daily.
The AIFB's candidate in Andipatti constituency Pon Murugan and Theni candidate Kathiresan had to withdraw from contest under "some pressure", he said.
Party leader Debabrata Biswas has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the threats.
Karthik said the workers of his party would support any candidate they liked in constituencies where AIFB do not contest.
The original plan of the party was to contest in 111 constituencies, but it got reduced to 77 and then to 64 due to "various problems".
He also said that the party had succeeded in getting the "Lion" symbol for all the constituencies in the state, except Usilampatti.
