Arrested terrorist to be handed over to Delhi Police

A suspected terrorist who was arrested in Jharkhand and on whose tip off two more terrorists were arrested in the national capital, will be handed over to Delhi Police, an officer said today.

According to the police, a resident of Hazaribagh's Pelawal area was arrested two days ago by the district police.

"Jharkhand Police provided some input to Delhi Police based on the interrogation of the arrested terrorist. Based on that, two terrorists were arrested in New Delhi yesterday (Wednesday)," a police source said.

A module of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) that was planning to target the national capital was busted with the arrest of two suspected terrorists in New Delhi on Wednesday.

A Delhi Police team arrived in Hazaribagh on Thursday to interrogate the arrested terrorist, who will be handed to the Delhi Police in transit remand.

In 2001, two terrorists involved in attack on the American Centre in Kolkata were killed in Hazaribagh district.
