ATMA to draw strategy to better quality

Officials of Agriculture Department working under Agriculture Technique Management Agency (ATMA) will soon chalk out strategy with a view to enhancing the quality of agricultural products in the district.

A direction to this effect was given to the officials by Chief Development Officer Bhavnath Singh on Thursday while conducting a seminar on 'how to enhance the agricultural yield and better its quality' in the district.

The officials belonging to Infertile Land Reclamation Corporation, Soil Conservation Department and Agriculture Department participated in the seminar.

Singh reviewed point-wise the progress of the various schemes launched by Infertile Land Reclamation Corporation. He asked the officials to organise 'kisan gosthi' in five schools opened by Corporation for farmers in the district in order to prove their utility.

He also asked the officials to ensure the exhibition of agriculture produce at the village panchayat level with the support of these schools.

SB Singh, project director of Infertile Land Reclamation Corporation informed the officials that Corporation has already established Late Sagar Ram Kisan Vidyalaya Training Institute Chandauki, Phulpur, Mahaveer Krishi Prachar Prasar Kisan Vidyalaya Mauaima, Adarsh Krishi Club Vidyalaya Budawan, and Krishi Vikas Kisan Vidyalaya Gauhaniya. These institutes are meant for the multiple training in soil testing, pisciculture, honey- bee culture, techniques utilised in protecting the farm, and lac production.

Singh also informed that the establishment of Chhattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Kisan Vidyalaya at village Bhawara, Pratappur is on the cards this year. He said that Corporation has managed to construct altogether 24 exit drains in the district this year and approximately 81.121 hectares of land falling in Baladeeh, Saraibaju, Baudai, Pure Sudi has been considered for reclamation. Altogether 24 groups will work for the purpose.
