BJP DIVISIONAL-LEVEL organisation-government coordination meetings began from Sagar on Sunday with Bada Malehra figuring prominently on the agenda. State BJP president Satyanarayan Jatia’s warning to those party leaders and workers who are hobnobbing with Uma Bharti’s Janashakti is being seen in Bada Malehra context.
Jatia, who preferred to parry questions on Bharti when he had faced the journalists in the past, was candid today in making categorical statement at Sagar that those who had left the party had no place in it.
According to reports from Sagar, responding to queries from journalists, Jatia said nobody in the party would be allowed to extend support to the Bharatiya Janashakti (BJ). “The party doesn’t have place for those who are involved in anti-party activities,” he added.
The party sources said it was perhaps the first time after Jatia took over as the State BJP president that he overtly took the name of Uma Bharati and issued stern warning to those party leaders and workers who are hobnobbing with Bharti’s party.
They said apart from other organisational matters, the meeting saw State BJP vice-president Bhupendra Singh’s candid admittance while exhorting the workers that Bada Malehra was a big challenge for the party.
That Bada Malehra or in coming years Uma Bharti is a big threat to the party was well reflected in the fact that the party invited even those leaders to attend the meeting, who had almost been forgotten, they said.
Though the meeting had government-organisation coordination on the top of the agenda, the BJ leaders remained watchful of the BJP activities all through the day.
The Janashakti leaders were curious to know how the BJP meeting discussed Uma Bharati and Bada Malehra. Bada Malehra assembly constituency, which will see by-poll in the coming months, is witnessing hectic political activities much before the notification of elections. Bada Malehra constituency falls under Sagar division.
Jatiya told the reporters after the meeting that the divisional level meeting of the MLA, MP and other officer bearers was aimed at getting information about the various problems being faced by them.
He said that after hearing the workers it was decided to launch the programmes. During the first campaign, known as ‘ Development training the workers will be educated about the government run schemes and in the second phase termed ‘development campaign’ steps would be taken to inform the citizen about the various programmes of the State government.
