Congress on Tuesday fumed at the BJP's "goodbye Chief Minister" advertisement campaign in Karnataka aimed at S M Krishna, calling it "disgraceful" and "highly low in election politics".
Commenting on the advertisement inserted by BJP in local papers, Congress spokesman B K Chandrashekhar said BJP has reduced the election campaign to "an undignified level".
He also lashed out at BJP for its ad-campaign that thousands of farmers have committed suicide in Karnataka and termed it as an "irresponsible act".
The Congress has decided to protest against the electioneering visit by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to tour parts of the state, saying it would create communal disharmony among people.
Chandrashekhar denied that the state government failed to utilise funds released by the Centre to tackle drought conditions, asserting that against the request for Rs 4440.84 crore assistance, the state got only Rs 770 crore.
He accused BJP of trying to mislead people on this issue.
Another spokesman V R Sudarshan said disappointment has already gripped BJP in the state following the surge in the popularity of Congress.
