The procession was led by BJP district president (south) Radheyshyam Pandey, Satyeodeo Pauchari, general secretary Raghunandan Singh Bhadoria, Anirudh Pandey and others.

As the procession moved towards Sachan guest house, the agitators raised anti-Congress slogans. Despite the prior information about the agitation, no senior official of the district administration was present on  spot to receive the memorandum addressed to the President of India. The agitators then blocked the road which caused traffic jam. The agitators vented their spleen at the Congress government at the Centre.

The agitation  culminated into a public meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Radheyshyam Pandey criticized the Congress for rising prices of essential commodities. Citing the newspaper reports, Pandey said, “The Congress government is again planning to raise the price of petrol.”

As soon as the Congress government came to power, the prices of essential items started shooting up, Pandey said.

Senior BJP leader Satyodeo Pachuri also addressed the gathering.

When the SO, Barra police station, requested Pandey to remove the road blockade, he said unless any senior official of the district administration receive  the memorandum, the blockade would not be lifted.

Later, ADM (civil supplies) Shyam Lal Gupta and ACM Ayodhya Prasad reached the spot and received the memorandum addressed to the President.
