BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday claimed BJP would emerge as the single largest party after the polls and was sure of forming government at the Centre with the support of its allies.
Talking to reporters in Tiruchirappalli, he alleged that the Third Front was only a 'mirage' as it was without a leader, agenda and agreed programme.
Naidu said it was the CPI(M) which criticised BJP when the NDA led government reduced interest rates on EPF to 9.5 per cent. But, at the same time they (CPI-M) kept silent when UPA government further reduced the interest rates to 8.5 per cent, when it supported the government from outside, he said.
He said the party had a 'different approach' from the other political parties on the LTTE, which was responsible for the killing of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
He said BJP wanted protection to Tamils in the island nation from the hands of LTTE. 'Some political parties only wanted a cease-fire in Sri Lanka. But BJP is for the protection of Tamils there', he said.
'Why political parties talk only about a cease-fire when Tamils are killed', he asked?
'Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who is an experienced politician, were helpless in finding a solution to the Tamils issue in Sri Lanka', he said.
