Bomb hoax at Bangalore railway station

Two telephone calls received within a 10 minute span at the city railway station today, stating a bomb was planted at the Divisional Railway Manager's (DRM) office, turned out to be hoaxes, police said.

"Two calls were received, one at 11.30 am and another at 11.40 am by a person who spoke in Telugu about a bomb being planted in the DRM's office," police said.

A thorough search was conducted at the DRM's office and surrounding areas with the help of sniffer dogs and a bomb disposal squad, but nothing was found, they said. The calls have been traced to a Public Call Office at Bommasandra, a suburb of the city, they added.
