Cabinet okays jobs on compassionate ground in power companies in MP

The MP government approved the proposal for appointments of relatives of those died during service on compassionate ground in all six electricity companies in the state. The cabinet also gave Morena the status of a municipal corporation.

The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday approved the proposal for appointments of relatives of those died during service on compassionate ground in all six electricity companies in the state.

Government spokesperson Narottam Mishra said relatives of employees who died after November 15, 2000, would benefit from the decision. Overall, 875 employees have died in this period and 104 are given financial assistance by the electricity companies, said Mishra.

In another important decision, the cabinet gave Morena the status of a municipal corporation. Morena, which was a municipal council, was falling short by population of 13,000 to get into the corporation category.

The cabinet also approved relaxation of rules for direct recruitment into academic in school education department. About 470 posts would be filled after this relaxation.

The state government also decided to invite applications for posts in several departments, including CM Helpline. Thirty-four posts will be created in the women and child development department and 14 posts in medical department.

The state-run hostels and old-age homes would also get benefit of government scheme of getting wheat and rice at RS 1 per kg. The government spokesperson claimed that 5 crore 15 lakh people of the state are benefitting from this scheme.

The government has also decided to promote Sanchi brand (milk and milk products) in a big way. To promote organic production in the state, the CM has urged the officials to identify blocks and not villages.
