The residents are annoyed due to repeated disruption of cable services despite high cable fee being charged from them. In some areas, cable operators charge cable connection fee as high as Rs 300 per month and that too in advance.

“We pay the fee as per demand of cable operators. But, this is highly annoying that they have taken the consumers for a ride. The administration should step in to take action against the MSOs or the cable operators”, said an angry Kiran Mishra, a housewife in  Char Imali locality.

The cable subscribers said that the television has become a part of life so the people are missing out this daily dose of entertainment.

Reena Dixit, a bank employee, said that the cable television is only way of entertainment for her after returning to home from day’s work.

Another resident of Arera Colony, Shivshankar Sharma demanded immediate action to stop this nuisance of the MSOs. He said that it is amazing that the district administration has not bothered to take action so far.

He said that influential people are behind the each MSOs. That is why  the administration is dithering on  remedial action. Residents of several areas called the Hindustan Times office to register their protest in this regard.
