Case against Togadia for 'provocative' speech

The city police registered a case against VHP men Praveen Togadia for making provocative and inflamatory speech in Andhra.

The city police today registered a case against VHP General Secretary Praveen Togadia for making provocative and inflamatory speech here on Sunday last.

"The contents of Togadia's speech at a public meeting here on April 11 attracted the provision of 153-A 1 (a) of IPC and section 125 of representation of people act, 1951", City Police Commissioner R P Singh said here tonight.

The contents of VHP's leader's speech were offensive and tended to promote enmity, hatred and ill-will between the two communities, he said.

The provocative speech was delivered by Togadia in violation of the conditions stipulated by police, he said adding that Narayanguda police is investigating the case.
