Charge framed against Shahabuddin in murder case
The MP, facing nearly three dozen criminal cases, is currently lodged at Siwan divisional jail.
A special court in Siwan on Thursday framed charge against controversial RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in the kidnapping and suspected murder of a CPI-ML (Liberation) worker Chotelal Gupta seven years ago.
The charge was framed in the special court of additional district and sessions judge Gyaneshwar Prasad Shrivastava inside the Siwan jail under Section 364 (kidnapping or abduction in order to murder) of the IPC.
Shahabuddin, who was present in the court, pleaded not guilty. He is among the five accused in the kidnapping and suspected murder of Gupta in Siwan in 1999.
A case had been registered in this connection with the Hussainganj police station.
