While leaving, the miscreants threatened the employees with dire consequences. Class IV employee of the bank Virendra Kumar, resident of Mumfordganj, was suspected to be the man behind the attack and loot.
Sources said, the bank had financed a Hero Honda motorcycle purchased by the accused. After paying two instalments he had not cared to deposit the monthly instalments. As a result, bank authorities impounded the vehicle and took possession of it. This action of the bank enraged Virendra who gathered some persons and attacked the bank with the motive of teaching it a lesson. A report to this
effect is reported to have been lodged at the Civil Lines police station.
Looted: A person was looted by some person while he was returning from Mumbai. According to police Manish Kumar (25), resident of Faizabad, was found unconscious in Civil Lines on Wednesday morning. Manish said he was coming from Mumbai and was looted by some unidentified persons after they offered him drug-laced biscuit. He claimed the miscreants took Rs 9,000 from his possession.
