CMPDC stir intensifies

WITH STUDENTS creating ruckus and indulging in stone pelting the stir intensified at Chaudhari Mahadev Prasad Degree College (CMPDC) on Thursday. The students demanded stern action against a Chemistry department teacher who is charged with molesting a female student a few days back. College authorities sought the help of cops to drive the angry students out of the campus. Trouble started when CMP Degree College principal Dr Kiran Shanker resumed his office on Monday after leave.

The students demanded stern action against a Chemistry department teacher who is charged with molesting a female student a few days back. College authorities sought the help of cops to drive the angry students out of the campus.

Trouble started when CMP Degree College principal Dr Kiran Shanker resumed his office on Monday after leave. CMP degree College student union office-bearers demanded justice for the victim and termination from service of the accused teacher. Dr Shanker assured the students that justice would be done to the case only after the complete investigation of the case.

Irate students shouted anti-college slogans and started pelting stones at the college building. Police deployed in the campus tried to catch the students but were able to hold the motorbikes of some students.

Meanwhile, CMP Degree College Proctor DR Satyambada Singh denied any incident of stone pelting and damaging of property of the college.

Meanwhile, CMP degree College management adopted stern attitude over the issue of alleged sexual harassment of a female student by a teacher on March17. CMP degree College Principal Dr Kiran Shankar said that a meeting of the college management committee has been called on Friday to discuss the matter and probably a committee would be framed to investigate the case.

It would be taken into account that the committee investigating the case carries out investigation free and fare and the guilty.

Dr Shanker said that since the matter was related to the honour of a female student, the police department has undertook the case seriously.

They investigated the chemistry lab and the  chemistry department on Thursday.
