Cold wave intensifies in Valley once again

There is no respite from cold to residents of the Kashmir Valley with the metrological department on Monday predicting light snow and rains in isolated places in the next 24 hours.

Srinagar recorded the minimum temperature at 3.3 degrees Celsius as against 2.0 degrees on Sunday night, a MeT official said.

Pahalgam recorded a minimum of minus 4.2 degrees as against minus 5.0 degrees Celsius on Sunday night.

Famous ski-resort Gulmarg recorded the minimum at minus 5.6 degrees Celsius as against minus 8.0 degrees on Sunday night.

Kokernag in south Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.0 degree Celsius as compared to Sunday night's 0.1 degree.

Qazigund - the gateway town to Kashmir - recorded a minimum of 1.2 degrees Celsius as compared to Sunday night 0.8 degrees.

Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded the minimum temperature at 1.3 degrees as against 0.7 degrees on Sunday night.

Kargil recorded a low of minus 10.2 degrees Celsius, While Leh in Ladakh region recorded a minimum of minus 9.2 degrees, the MeT official said.
