Confusion in JD(U) over seat allotment
Party's state chief said the central leadership had cleared only two seats and he expected sanction for some more constituencies.
Hours after Jharkhand Assembly speaker Inder Singh Namdhari announced his candidature for Chatra Lok Sabha seat and that the Janata Dal (U) allotted four more seats to join the poll fray, party's state unit president Goutam Sagar Rana today said the central leadership had cleared only two seats and he expected sanction for some more constituencies.
Rana and party's parliamentary board chairman Ram Chandra Kesari jointly told a press conference here that the duo just returned from Delhi after getting permission for Namdhari (Chatra) and Inder Dev Mahto (Giridih) to contest against candidates fielded by senior NDA partner BJP.
The leaders, however, said the central leadership was expected to sanction more seats before the completion of nominations on March 31.
Earlier in the morning Namdhari, along with energy minister Lalchand Mahto, said he was one among the five candidates whom the leadership allowed to contest the polls.
