Cong flays ruling BJD-BJP combine, releases chargesheet
The Congress has lambasted the BJD-BJP government for its failure to honour its pledge to ensure employment for one lakh youth.
The opposition Congress in Orissa has lambasted the BJD-BJP government for its "failure" to honour its pledge to ensure employment for one lakh youth every year saying its promise to provide clean governance had "turned into a hoax."
"During the last four years, not even 4,000 unemployed youth were provided employment opportunities against the promised four lakh," a chargesheet released by the party against the ruling coalition, ahead of the general elections, claimed.
On the other hand, 40,000 government employees lost their jobs while 70,000 vacant posts were abolished, it said.
The 11-page chargesheet released here by the PCC chief J B Patnaik alleged that wearing the "mask of clean and transparent administration," the present regime had turned out to be the most corrupt as exposed by several charges including mining lease scam, excise scam and paddy recycling scam.
The chargesheet also accused the ruling coalition partners of spitting venom against each other which brought to the fore the "unprincipled and opportunistic" alliance between the two parties and the inherent differences between them.
"This has affected developmental projects while bringing the administration to a standstill," it said.
