Cong names 11 from MP
Former minister Kanti Lal Bhuria, Scindia family loyalist Ram Sewak and former minister Dalbir Singh's wife Nandini are among the named.
Former minister and member of the dissolved House Kanti Lal Bhuria, Scindia family loyalist Ram Sewak and former minister Dalbir Singh's wife Rajesh Nandini are among the 11 candidates announced by Congress on Saturday for parliamentary elections in Madhya Pradesh.
While Bhuria would contest from Jhabua reserved constituency, Nandini has been selected for Shahdol reserved seat, a party release here said.
In the prestigious Gwalior constituency, the party has fielded Ram Sewak setting at rest speculation that Madhvi Raje Scindia, wife of late Madhavrao Scindia may contest from there.
Tilak Raj Singh would be the party candidate for Sidhi reserved seat while Rameshwar Patel, considered close to senior party leader Arjun Singh, would contest from Indore.
Rajendra Jaiswal would contest from Betul, Uttam Chand Khatik from Sagar reserved seat, Pushpa Bisen from Balaghat, Savithri Dhumketu from Mandala reserved, Kalyani Pande from Seoni and Rajendra Gautam from Mandsaur.
The party has so far announced names of 24 candidates in the state and is yet to decide on five seats including Rajgarh which was represented by former chief minister Digvijay Singh's brother Laxman Singh in the dissolved House. Laxman, who recently quit Congress is seeking reelection from the seat as a BJP nominee.
