Congress launches offensive against SP Government

LAUNCHING THEIR offensive against the Samajwadi Party government, activists of the Congress has staged a dharna at district magistrate office to invite the attention of the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, over the problems faced by the common people. They handed over a 13-point memorandum to the district magistrate to be forwarded to the Governor of UP.

SP women cell  dharna
IN BID to corner Congress-led Union government, activists of the Samajwadi Party women cell took out a procession and staged dharna at district magistrate office, protesting against the hike in petroleum prices.

They demanded to check the prices of petroleum, LPG and diesel, as it has shattered the domestic budget of a middle class family.

Former district president of the party Gopal Yadav blamed the Congress for its failure to check the petroleum product prices. He said due to the faulty policies of the Union government, the prices of petroleum product were skyrocketing.

He further said that Union government had exploited the farmers by importing the wheat. He also blamed the Union government for ignoring the plight of the common peoples.

They also handed over a memorandum to the city magistrate to be forwarded to the President of India. They said SP would not remain silent on this issue. A massive movement would be launch to mount pressure on Congress-led government, they added.

District unit president of the SP Women Cell Rajkumari Devi said the budget of middle class family has failed due to rapid increase in petroleum products. She said the people of Uttar Pradesh would give a befitting reply to the Congress in coming election, as Congress party has become insensitive regarding such issues.

SP leader Seema Singh, Satyanarain Gupta, Krishna Kumar Tripathi, Rajesh Kumar Saithwar, Shanti Devi and others said that two years tenure of the Congress-led Union government was a flop show, as Congress remained busy in obliging others instead of focusing on the basic problems of common peoples.

They also criticised the new economic policies of the Central and said India was conversing into a market for the multi-national companies and their domination over the ruling party have posed a serious threat to our economic sovereignty.
