Court adjourns Pratibha's case to July 30
The Court directs the investigating officer in the murder case of Congress worker VG Patil, in which Pratibha Patil has allegedly influenced and subverted investigation to sheild her brother.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday directed the investigating officer in the murder case of Congress worker VG Patil, in which Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil has allegedly influenced and subverted investigation to sheild her brother, to remain present in court on July 30.
VG Patil was murdered in Jalgaon in 2005.
His wife Rajni Patil had moved the High Court seeking that the CBI "interrogate" UPA-Left's Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil, and her brother in connection with the case before the election on July 19 so she might get "Presidential immunity" after that.
The division bench of Justice RMS Khandeparkar and SR Sathe, however, adjourned the matter as Additional Solicitor General failed to answer all the questions regarding the progress of investigation and the officer could not remain present in court as he was busy with his daughter's wedding, scheduled on July 19.
