Dacoits raid houses, 3 hurt

ARMED MISCREANTS looted valuables worth Rs 1 lakh from three houses in Gulrai village under Gulharia police station on Thursday night, causing serious injuries to three persons who offered resistance. When the villagers shouted for help, the miscreant hurled bombs and opened fire in the air, which created a sensation in the locality. Taking advantage of the hullabulloo, the dacoits managed to escape with the looted goods.Surprisingly, the police tried to marginalise the case and said that it was the result of rivalry between two groups.

The injured persons were admitted to BRD Medical College where their condition is stated to be serious.

According to reports, about 10 armed miscreants attacked the house of Ashok Kumar Gupta, injured Gupta and his wife Asha and looted Rs 27,000 along with valuable articles in the house. The house of Om Hari Gupta became the second target of the miscreants and later they attacked the house of a sant and looted him.

Ashok Kumar Gupta, his wife Asha and Om Hari Gupta were attacked wih iron rods and consequently they received serious head injuries and their condition is critical. Sources said that the children of Ashok Kumar Gupta, Sonu and Monu managed to escape from the house when the miscreant were beating their father. Along with Nagendra, the son of Om Hari, they raised alarm and called the villagers for help.When the villagers came to the help of Ashok Gupta, the miscreants hurled bombs which created panic in the village. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons and have started investigations.
