Dadri lynching: Five more arrested from Bisada village
The arrests were made on the basis of deposition made by slain Ikhlaq’s daughter Shaista before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-II, Gautam Budh Nagar on November 26.
Five more persons were arrested from Bisada village on Monday for their alleged involvement in lynching of 55-year-old Mohammad Ikhlaq and injuring his son Danish on September 28, police said.
The accused were identified as Arun alias Mannu, Ravin, Hariom Singh and a juvenile, police said.
The arrests were made on the basis of deposition made by slain Ikhlaq’s daughter Shaista before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate-II, Gautam Budh Nagar on November 26.
“These arrests were made following the statement of Danish’s sister Shaista. Four persons are yet to be arrested in the case. All of them were charged under sections of murder. They were produced in the court and were sent to jail. Their names have been added in the FIR,” said Anurag Singh, circle officer Dadri, Greater Noida
In her statement to the magistrate, Ikhlaq’s daughter Shaista had named nine more persons from the village who were allegedly involved in the incident.
“The rest of the accused will be arrested soon. We are going to file a chargesheet before December 26 in this case,” said Singh.
Ikhlaq and his son Danish were attacked by a mob on the night of September 28 over allegations of cow slaughter. Ikhlaq had succumbed to his injuries in the hospital while Danish is still recuperating from his injuries.
