The demand is phenomenal. So, in the first phase and in 365 days, Shraavan Prajapati plans to create 1,500 sets of the trinity in fibre, 100 sets in marble and 100 sets in bronze. Each of the statues will be three-feet tall.

The BSP supremo is personally monitoring the project. She has approved the prototype of Kanshi Ram and Ambedkar but wants some corrections to her statue.

Even before Prajapati has put hands to ‘clay’, the worshippers or BSP workers are queuing up with requests to make the trinity ready as soon as possible.

The sculptor also justifies the rush and huge demand for statues.

Says Prajapati, “They are the future gods.

The BSP followers want to worship the trinity daily to seek their blessings. For them it is not easy to come to the Prerna Sthal for worship so they want to have the idols wherever they live.”

He adds, “BSP workers have been coming to me with requests for the statues.

But I cannot make the idols without Mayawati’s permission. When demands for the statues started growing, I spoke to her. She gave the go ahead to make 1,500 fibre sets in the first phase.”

But just possessing the statues is not enough. The trinity must be placed inside a proper temple-type structure, the party workers have been told.

All the three idols will be mounted on a mountain-like base to give a God-like aura.

The fibre idols come with a hefty price tag. Party men will have to shell out Rs 25,000 for a fibre-made trinity and the bronze and marble ones will cost Rs 2.5 lakh each.

Fifty per cent of profits from the sale of the idols would go to the BSP fund, Prajapati said.

It’s not just the BSP that is placing orders with Prajapati. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has asked Prajapati to make a statue of Rajiv Gandhi that will be installed in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
