With the recovery of two bodies in South Tripura district, the death toll in flood-related incidents in Tripura has increased to four even as the overall flood situation improved with no rains being reported since Monday, official sources said on Tuesday.
Police recovered bodies of two children, who were washed away in a strong water current, from two sepaarate paddy fields in Sabroom sub-division of the district last night.
The river Fenni in Sabroom sub-division is flowing much below the danger mark and there was no fresh waterlogging, the sources said adding most of the people have started returning to their homes from relief camps.
The sources also said a farmer Arjun Das was washed away last night in Rampur of Amarpur sub-division of the district yesterday.
However, the situation was gradually improving of Amarpur and there was no reports of fresh water logging as there was no rain in the sub-division since yesterday.
Villagers sheltered in different camps in the sub-division started going back home.
The sources said, the flood situation in Bilonia sub-division was also improving and the river Muur was flowing normally.
Earlier, eigth-year-old Gobinda Tripura was killed in a landslide at Rajanisardarpara of the sub-division on Sunday last, the sources added.
