The representative body of the students of the degree colleges called off their agitation immediately after a meeting they had with the SU ViceChancellor Prof Mahendra P. Lama and other officials where the university authorities agreed to consider various demands of the agitating students, including one for back paper system, the release said.
The University also decided to reduce the re-evaluation fee from Rs 200 to Rs 100 and extended the scope of the re-evaluation to term paper, mid-term and final semester examinations, it said.
The students of Rhenock, Namchi and Tadong degree colleges were agitating since on Thursday against the SU’s reluctance to consider the demand of the students for back paper system to enable them to appear for re-examination in such papers in which the students had failed earlier semesters.
