And yet again he is playing the villain in this movie, a very cunning Chief Minister, Parasnath. According to Namdev, the character clearly represents the blotchy image of the present day politicos.

And why this inclination for  playing villainous roles? "Basically I consider three characters which are significant in a movie, the hero, the heroine and the villain.

Since I do not fit in the role of a hero, I prefer playing the negative roles which perfectly blends with my countenance", pat comes the reply.

"It is not that I shy away from doing positive roles. The role of Baikunth in the movie 'Kachche Dhage' received good response in which the character had positive shade", he said.

However he is still in search of doing the most complicated villainous roles. "And who else but personalities like Hitler, Mussolini, Saddam showcase the most complex characters. If not in the movies, then I would like to relive these characters on stage in theatres", he added.

'Bhau' of Satya and 'Chhote Thakur' of Virasat has dedicated 15 years to theatre which has made him a seasoned actor.

"The most memorable incident happened after the staging of the play 'Andha Yug' in Germany. Based on the anti-war theme, the play received a good response and the audience gave me nine-minute standing ovation for my acting", he said.

Namdev has done several shows abroad. "With no godfather in the film industry, it was necessary for me to launch myself as a mature actor and theatres provided the maturity to face the big shots of Tinsel Town", said Namdev.

Three movies of this actor are to be released soon, 'Gumnam' in April in which he is opposite Dino Morea and Mahima Chaudhary, 'Zamanat' opposite Big B and 'Kachchi Sadak', the last movie of Amrish Puri.

In city to shoot for the film Doshi, Namdev describes his visit to city as overwwhelming. He was full of praise for the local administration for arranging things and hoped more people from Bollywood would flew in here to shoot their films in future. He also described local lad Tanvir Zaidi as a promising actor and wished him luck for the future.
