One look at her and you know she's shed oodles of weight making her look like a sexy supermodel as compared to the frumpy lil' girl she once was. She's lighter, fairer and definitely sexier! One look at her and you know she's shed oodles of weight making her look like a sexy supermodel as compared to the frumpy lil' girl she once was. She's lighter, fairer and definitely sexier! She is Apple iPad 2 and here's a look at what the industry experts are saying about this hottest new entrant.

Evolution and not a revolution

What does the Apple iPad do for an encore? Sadly, more of an evolution and less of a revolution! However, that should not be mistaken for a weakness. Most industry experts feel that by making a number of small improvements that, individually, may not sound earth shattering, but put together, they take the iPad 2 on to a whole new plane of gizmo chic.

One thing that definitely stands out is its sexier shape. The iPad 2 is 90g lighter than the original one and definitely sleeker.

"One element of major note is the reduced thickness of the device. Apple has somehow managed to shave off an extra third of the original iPad's thickness and it certainly shows," wrote Techradar.

The flatter back is a welcome change and iPad 2 maintains its anodized aluminum feel. "Apple still uses anodized aluminum on the back, which is cool to the touch and generally resists smudges. The back now flattens out at the middle, allowing it to better stay put when placed on a table," wrote Cnet.com.

The new tab uses a dual-core A5 processor that promises to be two times faster than the its predecessor with nine times the graphics performance.

The Infinity Blade test

One of the biggest problems that iPad faced was the definite lag in the Infinity Blade application. So does iPad 2 pass the Infinity Blade test? Yes and with flying colours.

"Infinity Blade was a real test for the iPad original, but the discernible lag that affected it is definitely much reduced on the iPad 2. That makes for a completely different feel to the game - it's spritely and impressive," wrote Techradar.

The question of 2 cameras
However, the two cameras on the iPad are a serious bone of contention. With one at the front and one at the back, experts can't stop wondering how it serves any purpose. "We can't help but question the need for cameras at all; it's rare that you will actually want to take out your tablet to take a picture and we're yet to be convinced by the merits of Facetime video chat functionality," Techradar wrote.

Verdict
With its thinnest construction, longest battery life, competitive pricing and existent pool of iPad loyalist, iPad 2 could be the tablet to beat this year.
