Flood situation in South Tripura district has improved with no rains reported today, according to official sources.

They said the river Muhuri in Bilonia, river Gomati in Amarpur and river Fenni in Sabrroom subdivisions are flowing much below the danger mark and there was no report of any fresh waterlogging.

Most of the affected villagers started returning and district administration provided relief material, inlcuding cash and articles to repair the houses, they said.
One person was killed and more than 1800 people were rendered homeless yesterday in the floods due to incessant rains for the last three days.
