The ill-fated people were coming from Badayra village under Churhat police station in Sidhi district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh to Allahabad city to have a holy dip in the Sangam on the occasion of solar eclipse.
The accident took place on Rewa-Allahabad Road (NH-27) near Jari village around 3.15 am on Wednesday.
On hearing the sound the collision and cries for help some locals, who were rudely shaken from their sleep, rushed to the spot. The Kaundhiyara police also reportedly arrived quickly on the spot and helped in rescue operation.
