Go bright and colourful this spring
March should bring back the spring in your step, as the sun creeps back from behind the clouds and the chill winds sneak away. Here’s how to get ready for the spring season.
March should bring back the spring in your step, as the sun creeps back from behind the clouds and the chill winds sneak away. Here’s how to get ready for the spring season.
Colour burst
Wear spring colours. No grey and black, go for combinations of fuschia and orange, sunburst yellow and pink. Keep to three colours at best in one look — that is the trend across Europe.
Wear diagonal stripes
Be it tunics, swimwear or kurtas, diagonal stripes will make you look slimmer. Broad patches or thin lines will depend on whether you are tall and lissome or short and tending to pudgy.
Get back to bright prints
Florals are an Indian favourite, yes, but try geometrics, they are zanier. They work well too and lift the mood. Mix and match with solids please, or you might look like a carpet!
Time to swing
Get a pair of palazzo pants, show off those ankles. Invest in a new pair of glares. The style book for sun wear changes every season. This year graded colour lenses and cat’s eye-shaped frames promise to be big. Maybe you should check out if they suit your face.
Rock the evening
If you enjoy burning up the dance floor, the prescription is to go metallic. Skinny pants and señorita skirts in metal finish are also in.
Footwear styles
Try electric blue heels or wedges with white top and jeans, jumpsuit, or tees and skirt. Lime green, hot pink, and turquoise are other interesting options for footwear. Heels or flats, open-toed or sling backs, a bit of bling is definitely in. Beige with white or brown, white and pink add freshness to the look.
Makeup trend
Smokey eyes are passe. The trend is to hint lightly violet. Subtle shades of the colour on the lid is great for evening. Pink blush is fine for the day.
