An eyewitness of the carnage at Godhra has sought police protection after he allegedly received a threatening phone call.

Murli Mulchandani, who is vice-president of Godhra Municipality and also the General Secretary of BJP's district unit, has written to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and top police officials seeking police protection.

According to the police, when Mulchandani was in his municipality office on Friday, he received a phone call from an unknown person who allegedly threatened to shoot him dead.
