Congress on Friday flagged off its Seva Dal Jan Jagruti Abhiyan Yatra that would travel to all the 26 parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat.
In a bid to reach out to the masses as the election date nears, Gujarat Pradesh Congress on Friday flagged off its Seva Dal Jan Jagruti Abhiyan Yatra that would travel to all the 26 parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat that go to polls on April 20.
Starting on Friday the Yatra would go on till April 12.
The Yatra comprising around 20 'Seva Dal' members and two vehicles would campaign for the party and spread the word of the development work that Congress would do if given the power, GPCC president BK Gadhvi said while flagging it off from the Gandhi Ashram here in the morning.
Seva Dal workers would distribute pamphlets and brochures of the party's work in the past years and its vision for the state, senior Congress leader Narhari Amin said on the occasion.
"The misconceptions of the so-called feel-good-factor claimed by the NDA and the ruling BJP would also be exposed before the people in public meetings that would be conducted in all the constituencies," Ghadvi said.
He added that "the Jan Jagruti programme would also openly condemn the abusive language used by Gujarat chief Minister Narendra Modi against AICC president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul".
