With 24 Gujjar women granted bail, a major hurdle was cleared to resume talks between the Rajasthan Govt and agitating Gujjars on Friday.

With 24 Gujjar women granted bail, a major hurdle was cleared on Thursday to resume talks between the Rajasthan government and agitating Gujjars on Friday.

The women, who were arrested by the police on June 6 for damaging railway tracks at Bandikui, were given bail by a Dausa fast track court.

Gujjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsala had put forth the release of the women as a precondition for talks with the state government.

The state government has constituted a seven-member team. Government spokes-
person RK Singh said: “The team includes Water Resources Minister SL Jat, Mines Minister LN Dave, national BJP treasurer RD Agarwal and state bjp president OP Mathur, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister S Arora, Principal Secretary, irrigation, S.N. Thanvi and Principal Secretary, social justice, Malvika Panwar.”

Bainsala said: “I will not participate in the dialogue. My nominees will thrash out all issues with the government... But I will definitely participate in the final round provided the outcome of these talks is positive.”

Meanwhile, nothing is certain about the fate of 15 Gujjar agitators arrested from the Jaipur SMS hospital on June 7.
