All legislators of Haryana will soon have their own websites, which will present an account of the development work undertaken by them in their respective constituencies, Vidhan Sabha speaker Kuldeep Sharma said on Saturday.
Sharma said a software was being developed in Andhra Pradesh to serve the purpose. He added that laptops and computer equipment were being provided to all legislators and they would be trained to use these gadgets.
Talking to mediapersons at Karnal, Sharma said live coverage of the proceedings of Vidhan Sabha would also bring transparency in its functioning. In the last session, three TV channels had carried out one hour coverage of the Vidhan Sabha proceedings.
The speaker said the MLAs should also discuss social issues like female foeticide, declining sex ratio, drug abuse, dowry system, child marriage and corruption during the Vidhan Sabha sessions.
Besides, they should visit their constituencies at least once a week and listen to the grievances of the people. This would enhance their popularity and credibility, he said.
He said the voters should prevent corrupt people and criminals from entering Parliament or state assemblies.
