Haryana unit chief quits JD(U), blames George
Ved Prakash Vidrohi said he was quitting party being unhappy with president Fernandes's policies and his continued support to BJP.
The Janata Dal (United), a major NDA constituent, suffered a blow when its Haryana unit chief Ved Prakash Vidrohi resigned from the party on Sunday.
Vidrohi said he was quitting the party due to the policies of its president, George Fernandes, and his continued support to the BJP.
Vidrohi told reporters that JD(U) was ignoring core issues concerning the nation by siding with the BJP. The party was unnecessarily diverting voters' attention by raking up the Bofors issue and demanding a CBI probe against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said.
He claimed that since Sonia and her children Rahul and Priyanka were popular with the masses, the NDA was under pressure in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Vidrohi said that he will decide his future course of action after discussions with his co-workers and friends.
