The Special Court hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case against BJP leader LK Advani and seven others including some of his party colleagues on Monday deferred its hearing till November 13 next.
Special Judge Vansharaj Singh deferred the matter after a witness, who was scheduled to depose on behalf of the CBI, failed to turn up in the court.
Besides Advani, former Union ministers MM Joshi and Uma Bharti, BJP General Secretary Vinay Katiyar, VHP leaders Acharya Giriraj Kishore, Ashok Singhal and Vishnu Hari Dalmiya and Sadhvi Ritambhara are other accused in the case.
Meanwhile the district judge on Monday dismissed the revision petition filed by VHP leader Ram Vilas Vedanti and four others challenging a lower court order dismissing their application for being impleaded in the matter.
Vedanti and others had sought transfer of their trial from the Lucknow CBI Court to the District Court in Raebareli and wanted it to be clubbed with the trial against Advani and seven others.
