Dino Morea on his career, love, friendship and lots more in between...

Wassup?
Let's say, right now I don't want anyone to say, "Dino is only doing rubbishy films." I want to work with the best filmmakers. To make them want to work with me, I need that one hit film. Every dog has his day, I'm sure my time will come.

What do you think has gone wrong with your career?
Nothing. Everyone has a phase. It's not as if I've have done really awful films. It's just that my films haven't clicked at the box-office which doesn't make me a lousy actor.

I know my overseas fan base is huge because of the hits on my website. Raaz was a huge success, Aksar did well too. Holiday sold more DVDs than tickets. Importantly, I've been appreciated in all these films.

Are there moments of frustration?
Yes, there are days when I feel really low. There are times when I wonder about the films I'm doing. Other times, I'm happy about what I've achieved and have myself a blast. I'm human.

I know I have the potential but I've to be at the right place at the right time. Tomorrow if a big banner signs me, things will change immediately. Other big shots will sign me on too.

Why have you branched out into film production?
My company is called Clockwork Films. I'm starting out with ad films, followed by TV content and then I'll make successful films.

My first ad film.. for a paint company.. has Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor. I've actually managed to get a filmmaker in front of the camera. (Smiles) Hopefully one day, we will switch roles.

Reportedly you had problems with Milind Soman on the sets of Brahm. True?
Not true. Milind and I were never friends.. we're colleagues. When I entered the modelling industry, Milind was leaving it. When I took on the film I knew he was playing my elder brother, I had to get along with a bada bhai.

Seems you had a problem with him because of Bipasha Basu.
Yes but that's all over..left behind in the past. We have all moved ahead.

As a model you were more popular than John Abraham. Today haven't the tables turned?
After Raaz, a journo has asked me how it feels to be more popular than John. Today, I'm asked the same question with the names interchanged. John has been successful and deserves every bit of it.

Isn't there discomfort between the two of you because of Bipasha Basu again?
Not at all. For the record, Bipasha and I'd broken up exactly a year before she started seeing John. It wasn't apparent that we had broken up.. because we were still friends and were working together in films.

When she met John, she told me about it. She would often tell me what a nice guy John is. I was the one who told her that okay then, get into a relationship.

Can two actors be friends?

Of course they can. If there was something like a Mr Congeniality title, I'd be the sureshot winner. I'm friendly with so many actors.

Recently there were reports that Bipasha and you might get back together.

Bipasha will always be a friend. We went together for a function and tongues started wagging. Come on, why can't friends hang out together? Why are meanings read into a simple friendship?

Believe me, I was really irritated when your paper wrote that I was spreading this rumour myself. Ridiculous!

Talk was that you were spreading stories about John Abraham and your Brahm heroine Sheetal Menon.
Sheetal is a fantastic girl. Why would I spread such stories? What would I get out of doing that? I can't believe I'm even clarifying such nonsense.

Is there a special woman in your life?
I'm not even going there.

Everyone is all praise for the way you have stood by Kelly Dorjee after he split with Lara Dutta.
Kelly is a friend. I've done what any friend would have.

What is your equation with Lara now?
The same, she's a friend and will always be one. Why should it change?

You do have the reputation of being quite a ladies' man.
(Laughs) Do I? I'm quite flattered. I don't want to say anthing because the ladies I know will scream and say, "How can you such a pompous b&*%.. It is for us to decide what he's like."

What is the one thing you want most?
Success in my career. My aim is to make money. I started from scratch to reach this position I deserve a pat on my back. I don't want to sit back. I want to make it big, really big.
