Indian accountant cleared of murder charges in Britain

A British Indian accountant accused of killing a guest at a family party last year was cleared of murder charges.
Sanjay Kanda, 23, of Southall was arrested on suspicion of murder after he knocked another British Indian, Makhan Singh, unconscious during a row between two groups at a party in Heston, Middlesex, on the evening of Jan 21 last year.
The 32-year-old victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and was able to walk home but died a day later. Doctors later said that Singh had suffered brain haemorrhage as a result of hitting his head on the ground, according to thisislocallondon.com.
After a yearlong trial a local court last week found that Kanda only punched Singh in self-defence and it was not a case of murder. The court has discharged the accountant.
