The second-phase of the company's Pune campus is under construction and when completed, it would be its biggest in terms of seating capacity with a capacity of 30,000-35,000. Meanwhile, the plans for Infosys's Beijing campus, which will be able to accomodate 8,000-10,000 people, is being designed, said Rohan Parikh, head of infrastructure and green initiatives, Infosys.

The first phase of the Pune campus is already operational and part of the second phase is also being used. When completed in the next two to three years, the campus will be spread over 150-160 acres.

"Our campuses will be designed in the greenest way possible and will meet the highest standards," said Parikh. "All our new buildings since January 2008 have been built in compliance with the company's green policy. Those built before that are being retrofitted to comply with our energy conservation framework."

Infosys currently has got 10 campuses in India, covering an area of 28 million square feet. At present, the firm's Bangalore campus is the biggest in terms of seating capacity of 25,000. The company had signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Karnataka government in June 2010 for approvals for land conversion for a campus in Sarjapur, on the outskirts of Bangalore, but that hasn't materialised as yet. "It will happen when it happens,"said Parikh.
