Inimitable Kalam
Rajdeep Sardesai in A man for all reasons (July 20) has presented a very engaging picture of Kalam, writes Dhirendra Sharma fromDehradun.
Pakistan’s hypocrisy
The US has found itself in a situation where it finds it has bet on the wrong horse. The US never understood Pervez Musharraf, and was naive in its understanding of the double standards that exist in Pakistan. If America had taken India into confidence, we could have taught them a thing or two on how to deal with Pakistan. But sadly, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is helpless and is controlled by Sonia Gandhi.

Exporting terror
Apropos of Vikram Sood’s article Exorcist: Dictator’s cut (July 18), I feel Pervez Musharraf must be ready to change tack on how to deal with extremism. Terrorists don’t respect any borders. They understand one thing and that is the language of bullets. It will be great if Musharraf were to take a crack at helping to curb terrorism that is exported from Pakistan to India.

Inimitable Kalam
Rajdeep Sardesai in A man for all reasons (July 20) has presented a very engaging picture of Kalam. The former President installed power-saving devices in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Instead of his friends and relatives, he entertained disabled children at his residence. He forbade ministers and PMs from wasting time by seeing him off or receiving him at the airport.

Selective description
It seems Rahul Sharma in Drive through the clouds (July 21) has pointed out only ugly things on his trip to Dalhousie. Since his hatred for crowds of fat uncles and aunties walking on the streets comes out so strongly, what would he like people to do? Stay home all the day? Or walk with quick strides when we are on holiday?
