Vakas Ahmad was arrested on May 27 from Kanpur district by an ATS team and after registration of the FIR, the cased was probed by the local police.
"Further probe into the case would be done by the ATS instead of Kanpur police," Additional Director General of Police Brijlal told reporters in Lucknow.
Brijlal said that after Ahmad's arrest, sister intelligence agencies had been informed and probe into his links was still on.
Replying to a question, Brijlal said that the role of administration officials was also under the scanner after recovery of Electoral Photo Identity card (EPIC) from him.
"We have also informed the concerned authorities to probe Exemption from Police Reporting (EPR) visa, which the agent had," he said.
Ahmad was arrested from Mandhana hamlet in Bithur area and police had claimed that classified details related to the Indian Army, maps of prohibited area, a pocket diary, mobiles and receipt of Western Union money transfer through which he got money from Pakistan were recovered from his possession.
