"The ATS has got five days police custody remand of the ISI agent Vakas Ahmad alias Ibrahim. Besides ATS, officials of central investigating agencies are interrogating him", Additional Director General Brijlal told reporters.
He said that state police had also requested the central agencies to probe if the EPR (Exempt from Police Reporting) visa, based on which he arrived in India in 2005, was real of fake.
Concerning the two driving license recovered from the ISI agent, Brijlal said that one issued in the name of Ibrahim from Kanpur was found to be fake while the ATS was probing about the other one, issued from Sikar in Rajasthan in the name of one Rajesh Kumar.
He said that the agent was earlier nabbed by railway police in Etawah and was also arrested in Kanpur.
Asked about Ahmad's links in Kanpur, Brijlal said that he resided in Keshwav Khurd area of Kanpur at one Sitara's residence. Ahmad mentioned her husband Nafis Khan's name as his father and got the electoral photo identity card made on that address, the ADG said. "We have got some clues about his links and searches could be conducted to nab his associates", the officer said.
