Seven other candidates, including Pandurang alias Tatya Patil (SP), Arun Ramdas Mahajan (Bahujan Mahasangh) and Ravindra Tulshiram Gavai (BSP) are also in fray.

After NCP and Congress reached an alliance and decided to fight general elections together, NCP left the Jalgaon seat for Congress which has six assembly segments of Jalgaon, Jamner, Bhusawal, Yaval, Raver and Edalabad.

Except Jalgaon, which is represented by Suresh Jain of NCP, other assembly constituencies are represented by the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance candidates.

In 1999 Lok Sabha polls, BJP's Mahajan was elected by securing 3,34,020 votes defeating Congress candidate Dr Ulhas Patil and NCP candidate Jivram Tukaram Mahajan.

In Erandol parliamentary constituency, the main fight is between Union Minister of State for Rural Development MK Anna Patil and NCP candidate Vasantrao More. Besides, BSP and SP have also fielded their candidates.

Six assembly segments of Chalisgaon, Amalner, Chopda, Erandol, Pachora and Parola fall under this parliamentary constituency which has a total electorate of 10,82,949 including 5,30,636 women. It has 1447 polling centres.

In 1999 polls, BJP's MK Anna Patil defeated VG Patil of Congress securing 2,97,867 votes.
