A Jaish-e-Mohammad militant were killed and another injured while three brothers were arrested in two separate operations in Jammu & Kashmir.
A Jaish-e-Mohammad militant (JeM) was killed and another injured while three brothers were arrested in two separate operations in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Friday.
Shabir Ahmad alias Arsalan was killed and his Pakistani associate was injured in a gunfight with police at Barpora-Wagahama village, Pulwama SSP Ali Mohammad said.
The shootout broke out when police, acting on a tip off, launched a search operation in the south Kashmir village.
An AK assault rifle and two magazines were recovered from the slain ultra.
In another operation, three suspected militants -- Irfan and his brothers Ishaq and Tasveer -- were arrested near Stadium Colony in Pulwama.
The disclosure of the trio led to the recovery of a rifle with two magazines and 37 bullets, two grenades, a detonator and Rs 1.10 lakh from a tin shed in the area.
Meanwhile, unidentified militants shot at and critically injured surrendered ultra Ghulam Mohiuddin Rather at Hardshiva village of Sopore in Baramulla district.
Rather, received two bullets in his body and was shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment, a police spokesman said, adding his condition was stated to be critical.
