Jharkhand Guv for removal of recruitment board chief
Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi recommended the removal of the state public service commission's head and one of its members for their alleged corrupt practices, an official said.
Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibte Razi on Wednesday recommended the removal of the state public service commission's head and one of its members for their alleged corrupt practices, an official said.
"The advisory committee of the governor has recommended to the president of India the removal of Dileep Prasad, chairman of JPSC (Jharkhand Public Service Commission) and Gopal Prasad Singh, member of the commission," said P.K. Jajoria, secretary of the state secretariat coordination committee.
"The committee also recommended the lodging of criminal cases against them and against one retired member of the commission," the official said.
Jharkhand is under the President's Rule as the state assembly is under suspended animation following the fall of the Shibu Soren government in January.
The retired member is Radha Govind Singh Nagesh.
The recommendations follow the complaints against them about the alleged corruption in the recruitment board.
The committee, in its probe, found the chairman and the accused members were involved in corrupt practices and had extended benefits to their relatives.
The board faces charges of large scale corruption in the appointment of lecturers last year.
