Maher played in five games in the seven-match series and finished at the top of the Australian batting averages.

The left-hander has been an intrinsic part of Queensland's recent success and will be looking to transfer that to the international scene.

An attacking batsman who can play either at the top of the order or lower down, he gives Australia options.

Quick on his feet and a fantastic close fielder who will be the back-up wicketkeeper, the 28-year-old will be putting pressure on more established batsmen for a starting berth.
