"Kasab who is in police custody will be now be in judicial custody,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said.
Police fear that Kasab’s life may be under threat following reports that some terror groups may have contracted the underworld to target the surviving 26/11 terrorist.
Kasab is understood to have been lodged in an isolated barrack where no prisoner will be kept anywhere near him. He will be under round the clock surveillance of jail authorities.
Earlier too, Kasab was kept in the Arthur Road jail for three days during which his Test Identification Parade was conducted.
