Police fear that Kasab’s life may be under threat following reports that some terror groups may have contracted the underworld to target the surviving 26/11 terrorist.

Kasab is understood to have been lodged in an isolated barrack where no prisoner will be kept anywhere near him. He will be under round the clock surveillance of jail authorities.

Earlier too, Kasab was kept in the Arthur Road jail for three days during which his Test Identification Parade was conducted.

Kasab has been booked in 12 cases by the Mumbai police, out of which he is in judicial custody in six cases and in police custody in one case.

183 persons were killed and around 300 injured in the attacks on November 26 by ten terrorists at locations like Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Hotels Taj and Trident and Nariman House.

Nine of the terrorists were killed by security forces while Kasab was captured alive.
