Maheshwari?s judicial custody extended

CHIEF JUDICIAL Magistrate Ghazipur, Angad Prasad, on Friday extended the judicial custody of hardcore criminal, Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva, of Western UP by 14 days more.

Jeeva, wanted in sensational murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and six others in Ghazipur district on November 29 last year, would now be produced in the Ghazipur Court on August 11.

Jeeva was caught by cops of Delhi police in the national capital two months ago. Soon after the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and six others, the name of hardcore criminals — Firdaus of Rae Bareli, Sanjeev Jeeva of Muzzafarpur and Munna Bajrangi had surfaced.

The name of SP MP, Afzal Ansari, Independent MLA, Mukhtar Ansari and their brother-in-law Ejaz Ansari had also surfaced as conspirators of sensational murder. Firdaus was shot dead by the UP STF in Mumbai three months back, while Jeeva was arrested from New Delhi.

Allahabad High Court had also ordered for constitution of a CBI probe into murder of BJP MLA on petition of his brother Ram Narain Rai.
